Indian Zodiac System – The Sun Sign Astrology

Indian Zodiac System – The Sun Sign Astrology The word zodiac is derived from the Greek ζωδιακ ό ς (zodiakos), which means "a circle of animals," or, as some believe, "little animals." Rig Veda refers to the 12 parts of the wheel and 12 lunar months. Astrologers divided zodiac into 12 equal parts.  Earth orbits around the sun in the ecliptic line, the band that extends 8 degrees on either side of the line is zodiac. Each sun sign is assigned one of the principle elements of nature: fire, earth, air and water.          Fire - These signs tend to be lively, impetuous, aggressive, bright, and enthusiastic. They are self-sufficient and can become forceful and demanding with those around them.          Air - These signs have quick minds and are gifted in abstract concepts, communications, reasoning, and intellect. What if Mothers Go on Strike ??

Would I be here to write this up if mothers go on a strike?? Naah...I would be putting up my own rally to make mothers end their strike immediately. When you lose something then only you realize the value of that particular thing in your life. Just thinking of mothers going on a strike brings a chill down my spine.. "The hand that rocks the cradle rules the world" If the ruler vanishes we are sure to be put into big troubles. That is the time when we realize what mothers are for us and how much we are interdependent on her. Until then we just tend to take mothers for granted considering that what she is doing for us is just her duty and never thanking her for making our life such a beautiful place. My mother is the finest lady for me...Her smiling face brings a smile on faces of everybody around, she is the image of God's love, an apostle of love and mercy...How can we afford to let her go on a strike? The proverb" east or west, home is the best" is tru...

A Rainy Day

Nature has bestowed upon us a pleasant variety of seasons. Gujarati Author Kumar Jaimini Shashtri says that life is everything about being in rains. We spend the entire life in sweet memories of dear ones. Rainy season is called the queen of seasons. It gives a new life to the flora and fauna. Not only the queen but also the rainy season is regarded as goddess of food. The fragrance of wet mud and a slavoury in hand best describes a rainy day. A  rainy day  of July provides the opportunity to watch the raging wild heavens pouring down sweet fury on sun burnt exhausted earth. Monsoon were a mere memory, Rains seem to have forgotten for a year now. A good shower has become a rarity to be savored in  dreams  or old grandma's tale. Due to unbearable heat, green covers of the earth have vanished; small streams and lakes have all gone dry. Animals are tired of the unbearable hotness. The farmers are also tired of waiting for the rains with tension. The farmers were ...

Uses of Plastic

"In 1979 the volume of plastics produced in United States surpassed the volume of domestically produced steel". It clearly shows how much of this polymer is in use today right from the beginning of our day brush till we sleep-mosquito nets...we are surrounded by different kinds of plastics.Plastics possess a wide range of useful properties and are relatively inexpensive to produce. Plastics are indispensable to our modern way of life and are formed into a variety of products. The word plastic comes from a Greek word-plastikos(meaning to mold or fit for molding) and the Latin word-plasticus(meaning to be capable for molding). Many people sleep on pillows and mattresses filled with a type of plastic-either cellular polyurethane or polyester. At night people sleep under blankets and bedspreads made of acrylic plastics and in the morning everybody steps out of beds onto polyester and nylon carpets. The cars we drive, the computers we use, the utensils we cook with, the r...

Relevance of Gandhian Principles

The world loves and respects this magic man of Asia but in 21st century the relevance of gandhian principals is lost. Gandhi was an apostle of non violence and preacher of truth. His entire life was of service, sacrifice, devotion and dedication. The sanity statesman, thinker, writer and orator f India still shines like a star on the horizon of Indian polity. Mahatma Gandhi was a man of sound and sterling character. In fact he was a noble soul. He wore very simple dress and took simple food. He was not only a man of word but also of action. What he preached was practiced by him. His approach to various problems was non violent and he was a god fearing person. He was a cynosure of all eyes. He was universally loved and liked. This apostle of peace and non violence inspired the lives of many and he was against untouchability. Gandhiji has been a source of inspiration, not only for the nation, but for the entire world. He is universally loved and respected as the "father of the ...
