Pre Preparations!


And I pressed the submit button...I didn’t know that that one click could change my life. I had successfully completed the formalities required to apply for M. Des course at DAIICT..I had to now wait for them to respond. I waited. I checked the website. I waited a little more. I checked the website a little more often. I finally lost hope. I knew I was waiting in vain. I wasn't shortlisted.  I still remember how surprised I was when out of nowhere that mail appeared in my mailbox inviting me for the interview test at DAIICT. I was frantic. I was elated. I was overjoyed. I was nervous. I started calling people. I again reviewed the entire website and checked the course content. I searched all the shortlisted candidates on fb. I even googled up the seniors. I downloaded all the CEED papers and solved a couple of them. I visited a design studio trying to meet as many people as possible who are associated with design and asked their opinions. I tried to figure out what I should prepare, how I should prepare and wanted to make as much effort as it took. Compiling a statement of purpose was easy but being in engineering background it was tough to have a decent portfolio being out of touch from drawing and stuff from a while. My sister and friends helped me put my work together and I was all set. Enthusiastically I talked to many seniors on social networking site and even called a guy up and shot all sorts of questions at him like how will the tests be, what will they ask me in interview, how is the hostel, how is the food, how are the teachers… just leaving out the how hot are the guys part :D

I blinked and the day passed ...

Time runs when we want it to stop ... and I somehow feel during the lecture hours time runs backwards ! The clock hands run anticlockwise ! I guess most of the students will agree....  and there are those moments when we want time to stop, when we want the moment to never pass... He never expected me to handle walking properly so I could understand his emotions on seeing me literally floating in air. I knew how much elated I was when he placed a kiss on my forehead. University College in oxford is an old college established for studying theology two centuries before Trinidad was named. It has famous alumni such as, P.B.Shelley, Clement Attlee, Harold Wilson and C.S.Lewis. There was a relief structure of William Jones in the chapel.It was a conservative men’s college with gender segregation The university life was staunchly male except meeting women in lectures or through other activities.
