D Day!

Bags Packed and Brains Forcefully opened... I was ready to leave for DAIICT. I was determined to give my best in the tests. I wanted to get in badly ....  The time ticked away very quickly and I never knew when that moment came when I was sitting in the examination hall. I was expecting an hour long paper and it arrived in my hands. (45 minutes max time it read.. i relaxed)
Q1. Design / Money .. I don't know but I wrote something and filled the page somehow.
Q2. I had to draw an enlarged view of the magnifying glass. They wanted to know how we would use the magnifying glass if it is enlarged 20 times and 200 times.

For the 20 times enlarging I turned the magnifying glass into a street light and drew a scene of dark black night with my charcoal pencil
The other thing I turned the magnifying glass into was a trampoline. I cut out the shape of the glass portion and then crumpled the bit and created a different texture and stuck it on my answer sheet. It looked good.

For the 200 times I made a submarine out of the magnifying glass. I was pretty satisfied when I was done with the paper ....but then suddenly another paper was given which was filled with questions about paintings and pictures and a box where in we had to share our experience at DAIICT up till then.
I drew a lotus (inspiration derived from the lotus pond at the college's entrance) ...in fact a blossoming lotus and a lamp providing light to it signifying that I m the flower who wants to blossom under the guidance of the teachers (lamp :D)
I somehow finished the paper....pretty relaxed that I was done with it... but then a third paper erupted out of nowhere in which we had to write about out favourite advertisement and tell them why we chose it.
I wrote about an add where few words flash on a black screen
" Commercial breaks are meant for you to rush to the kitchen make popcorn in two minutes rush back and still not miss your favourite show" ... I don't know which brand of popcorn but still I liked the add,its simplicity.

If they had given another 45 minute paper I would have rushed out of the examination hall !! somehow I completed all the tests with all the patience I could muster...

"PALAK SANGHANI "
I still couldn't believe it. It was there in bold. The first name on the list!! Yippeee!!! I was shortlisted for the interviews. I was excited but more than that I was nervous. I wanted to give it my best shot. I ddnt want to face rejection.

Scene 1
Palak Sanghani is sitting in front of a jury of a dozen of people. She has freaked out. She has forgotten all the answers. She is looking dumbly at everybody around and everybody is shuffling through her portfolio and shooting questions at her
"why you want to come here ?? "
"why do you call a website a website ??"
"how many visitors visited your website ??"
"which your favourite book ?? what are you reading ?? what non fiction have you read ?? who wrote this quote ?? "

( I seriously have no idea what replies I muttered. I know the coordinator scribbled a 20 on her mark sheet against my name. I don't know if that was my score out of 100 or 50 ? )

I was totally stumped when they asked me why had drawn that blossoming flower, if I had planned that answer and come.
Sir : Ghar se soch ke ayee thi kya ??
Me : Nai Sir, question padh ke dimag mein aa gaya
Sir : aur ek aisa sentence bana do ...
Me : aur ek aisa question puchh do ...

( Everybody is suddenly laughing ... and I am like OMG! Yeh kya bol diya maine... )

Scene 2
Palak Sanghani comes out of the interview room and is surrounded by people asking the standard questions of what happened and how was the interview

I messed up big time. Please leave me alone !! I m not going to clear it.

Scene 2.5
Everybody is showering words of encouragement as if they are a part of jury

Results were supposed to be declared on the website in the evening. I must have checked the website 100 times by midnight still no results. The next morning again I engaged myself in the most interesting task of pressing F5 every five seconds. but still no results. I had to accept the hard fact that they had sent mails to the selected candidates and I wasn't among them :(

Scene 3
I was just checking my mail and there was some unread mail in the corner of the mailbox : CONGRATULATIONS... I ddnt have to even read any other line. I wasted up the entire balance on my cell calling all my well-wishers relatives friends family and announcing the results.

I was literary floating. Words few. Emotions many.
