Shamiana Breaks the records!!
Shamiana
anniversary celebrations couldn't get a better start. Maddy performed 4 melodious
songs and the mood was set, the temperature had risen.
The
shamiana anniversary screening began with a very tasty starter …A two and a
half minute film “Amdavad Appetite” by Madhvi Bhatt ensured that everybody was
salivating. It took us on a drive around the city of Ahmedabad and showing
tempting amdavad food.
The
short film “chair” got everybody thinking, everybody could have different
interpretations of the short film. They used the prop chair to show that loved
ones have a permanent place in our heart. As always the interaction with the
movie makers was very entertaining, with cyrus sir’s humorous inputs. He makes
sure he gives enough appreciation and motivation to all those who deserve and
his funny comments makes sure the audience is glued!
The show
stopper of the evening was certainly the last movie that was screened: Henry by
Canadian Yan England. It was super sad and incredibly touching.
These
movies were so gripping that nobody realized when it was time to depart, on
interviewing one of the first timers they told me that they won’t miss future
screenings and suggested that shamiana should at least increase the duration by
one hour and increase the frequency of screenings.
Shamiana
fever is fast spreading. Hats off to cyrus dastur for taking so much efforts
and pushing shamiana to great heights. Once again happy birthday shamiana, may
we get to attend more and more anniversary screenings in bigger and bigger
auditoriums !
