The Journey of Google Home Page
Google’s
original home page had a simple design, since its founders were not experienced
in HTML.
Over the
years, the google home page was updated and improved. The extra white space was
later on cropped out without removing any elements.
In the new version, a black bar was added. It was a
minimalist interface update, the interface was made brighter and updated over
the months of the year 2011. The word “Web” on the black bar was replaced with
“Search”.
Page changed a
little bit over the months. Red line over the options in the black bar was
removed. Sign button changed. The copyrighted logo was removed. The sign-in
button was moved to the left.
This is the
current high resolution version. It
is simple and clear, the page thus loads instantly.
While designing a
new tweak to the look of the homepage, great care has to be taken to ultimately
serve the audience so interaction design plays a major role.
