SHAMIANA is for Everyone
Shamiana keeps growing with every screening… featuring a few hard core fans….
Mudita Patel
She has been attending Shamiana since over a year and now she has managed to make her sister and group of friends addicted to the screening. She is eagerly looking forward to the Shamiana Ahemdabad anniversary. She says that not everybody gets to watch such films, of different genres and captivating stories. She loves the time intervals between the movies and the discussions that follow. She wants to specially thank Cyrus Dastur, and for giving such a platform to the local film makers and for screening such brilliant films that she has lost count of her favourite films.
Brinda Mehta
She has been a consistent visitor of Shamiana over the year since she found out about it through a friend. Shamiana keeps getting bigger and better with every screening. She complains that there have been less number of screenings in the past year. She suggests that there should be screenings for corporate people in the weekends. When asked to pick up a favourite she talks about a movie with a blind man handling a booth. It’s amazing how people have become part of Shamiana family from mere audience.
Urvashi Shrimali
She has not missed a single screening since her first visit to Shamiana. Naming few movies that touched her heart she talks about curfew, cupidity and mochi. She says that the best thing about Shamiana is that it encourages the aspiring Ahemdabadi film makers who are pretty good at their work but they don’t know where to showcase their work. She likes the way Shamiana is screened now and is awaiting the anniversary screening.
Shamiana’s fan club is growing in leaps and bounds and everybody is hungry for more … SO get ready for the anniversary screening on 28th Sept !
